Here we are giving our new little puppy a bath....isn't he so cute! He did a great job and was such a cute fluff ball when we were done. Ali was eager too help!
Happy Father's Day Byron!!! You know your kids love you and think you are an awesome and fun Dad when they want to take you along to play. They kept this trip a secret since March when they thought it up.
The kids have been planning a trip to Boondoc's for Byron for Father's Day. They decided it would be the coolest Father's Day present ever. So on Saturday we surprised Byron with our big present and we all loaded in the car and drove up to Boondock's. We followed up our fun with a trip to Five Guys...Byron's favorite burger place. We went go-cart racing, played the arcades and got LOTS of tickets thanks to skee-ball, rode in the bumper boats and played an exilerating round of miniature golf. We love you Byron! You play hard, you work hard, and you are a joy to have around. We couldn't be luckier to have you in our lives. The photo sums it up, this is Byron trying to shoot me with the water but Ali was fiercely trying to defend me. Can't get Mom wet! Ali showers me with love and kisses and hugs and occasionally will share one with Byron. She loves to tease him. We all know though how blessed we are to have him in our life.
Uncle Jason and Papa joined in on the fountain hopping fun. You should have seen the joy on my kids faces when their Papa headed straight into the fountain in his clothes. He jumped around with the kids like he was 10 years old. It was hysterical. Then Jason climbed in and was splashing and bobbing with the best of them....ahhh....kids bring out the best in us.
Trip To Dallas TX: A successful trip to Dallas must include...(according to my children that is)...chocolate covered strawberries, swimming, string party, swimming, playing at the park across the street, swimming, hunting fireflies (this was a new addition this year), and a few more swimming dips. We are proud too report this was a highly successful trip to Dallas....the string party rivaled Christmas in size and gifts. They were very sad to leave.
As part of our fun adventures in Dallas I thought it would be a good idea to torture my kids with a photo shoot. So, Hollie Byron's darling sister and up and coming photographer was gracious enough to do the torturing for me. She took my kids to the park in the blistering heat of a Texas summer and somehow managed to get them to not only move but also smile for some darling photos. They look great!!

The Pollan Clan was all there at one moment or another. Though Byron and Chris practically did a high five as one came in the door from the airport and the other left a few minutes later for the airport. It was enough time to snatch about one photo.
We had a great time visiting with the Pollan Fam in Dallas this summer. We skipped out on the last few days of school and headed to where it is hot...hot...hot. If you didn't think we swam enough while we were there...you would be mistaken we swam enough....multiple times a day in fact. It was far too much fun in the sun. The kids did have an absolute ball though. Tyler learned how to do a back dive and Carter learned how to do a back flop. So, the brown puppy with Tyler is Chewy. We have been loving him now since May 22. This was the day of Carter's birthday party and the day we met the littler of pups across the street.
After much debate and tears we finally struck a deal. The winning puppy is....Chewy! We are so excited to have Chewy in our little family of kids and pets. The kids have had SO much fun running across the street and playing with this litter of pups. Carter, Tyler and Ali worked really hard to earn $150.00 so they could buy a puppy. It is amazing what a little motivation can do for kids. They were washing and scrubbing and studying and cleaning neighbors yards....We kept a chart with who had earned what and as Carter earned the most money he got to pick Chewy's name. So, we changed his name to Duke. The problem was we had already been calling him Chewy for two weeks before we decided on a new name and then none of us could switch. So....we still call him Chewy.
