Byron had to work so we weren't planning on doing anything vacationey for spring break but on Monday I just decided spending the week playing with friends was not going to work out for me. So I booked a hotel and we headed south. Thankfully you don't have to go far in Utah to get to the sunshine and lots of awesome sites to visit. We did Goblin Valley and some of Arches. Loved it!!! We were all so sad Byron couldn't come with us but I am so glad we jet-setted out of town for a few days. Arches was amazing but harder on the hiking end of things. I loved it, Ali had a hard time but enjoyed the hotel pool at the end of the day. We had fun the last day looking at petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks on the rocks. The arch above is Sand Dune Arch and was only a .3 mile hike. Perfect we were there before we realized the hike had started. The boys climbed up and around and stood on the top of it. Ali buried herself in the sand dune below and they all enjoyed the time there.

There were some sand dunes right across the street from the Arches entrance that the kids had a blast playing in.

Goblin Valley-Great hike for any age. Boys loved climbing over under around and through anything they could get up. Ali was a bit more timid which I was grateful for I really didn't want to follow the boys everywhere they were going. I think the time is soon coming that I will have to admit I am a bit of a wimp and won't be able to blame it on a child. Dang! Ali saved me this trip though. Goblin Valley was a hit as there wasn't any real trail, just wandering and climbing.
Great vacation! We will be going again, maybe even a new spring break tradition. We didn't even make it to Canyonlands but hopefully will soon.
