January-the beginning of another year. From the pretty vegetable photo you can tell it's going to be an interesting one. Actually if you look closely you will see that the grey-haired gentlemen in the photo is actually President Uchtdorf. I ran into he and his wife and security detail at the Smith's near our house. There was a weird vibe in the veggie department and finally I started looking around to figure out what was going on. I pretended to be checking my list and snapped a photo because how often have I run into a general authority while at the store. Probably never again after we leave Bountiful. It was fun to be a bit of a paprazi over a general authority.
Ty was excited his robotics shirt finally came in. His team is doing some fun work and he is really enjoying the robotics program at Legacy. We are hopeful the will have a good one in Montana when we transfer up there.
I was at the orthodontist getting my retainers checked and look who I saw on the wall! Byron looking good with his braces off. He barely got them done in time to move but we are both so glad to have our smiles straightened out. Good work Dr. Feller. Now we just have Tyler and Ally who still need more time in the braces.
Ally Tyler and Jessie all enjoying the favorite spot by the warm fire. Jessie always wiggles her way into the front, closest to the heat. She must run cold like me.
Byron send down Carter's new plates today. He can finally legally drive his new truck. Just in time too as he'll be leaving for Montana at the end of the month.
Carter's first trip is down to the church with his brother Tyler. That's a good destination for your first legal trip in your new truck. He may have spun it around the circle in front of our house without plates a few times. It's hard to wait when you have such a cool new toy.
Byron has moved up to Montana and is living in a little studio apartment. When he doesn't come down to visit us on the weekends he hits the slopes at Big Mountain. It looks gorgeous and he looks pretty happy to be skiing. I am missing him terribly though. This whole living apart business is for the birds.
Kate and I having a good time. She's my brothers daughter and a sweet partner in crime.
Here are a few pictures of the house we have under contract. We call it "Blue Roof" because it has a blue roof on all the structures. It also has blue doors and blue window trim and blue counter tops and blue tile in the bathroom, blue barstools, blue well....you get the idea. I found out the previous owners are believers in Saint Michael and his robes are blue, also his military unit had blue as their color so he now chooses blue for everything as a tribute to living through the war. It's nice to know why. We plan on doing a bit of painting though.
The workshop is what our boys are most excited for. They have dreams of tools and wood in their heads. They are leaving their four wheeler and ride on mower for us which is a huge blessing as we are definitely going to need those. The four wheeler has a plow so that will be a big blessing when the snow flies. There's a long driveway on this ten acre property.
You can see the pond that is stocked with fish and the river in the background that we have some frontage along. Byron imagines hours of fishing in both the pond and the river. Hopefully we can get our North Salt Lake house sold so we can afford to close on this big blue bad boy.
Here's our gorgeous place in North Salt Lake that nobody has wanted to buy yet. It's been for sale since just after Halloween. I seriously thought it would go so quickly but nothing. We had to switch realtors and relist and are hoping for an offer with some new eyes looking at it.
Carter is getting ready to head for Montana so he had his gang of friends over for a going away party. He'll be back next month for a robotics tournament but still, leaving is so hard. He has a great group of kids he hangs out with in robotics and band from AISU. They will be missed as we venture into the far dark northern parts of our country. Just kidding it'll be fine...
Ally's team finished up their season as an undefeated bunch of soccer stars. They are doing so great together. This is one of the hardest things for me to leave behind. I just love this group of girls and their families. Playing with the Shock league has been such a blessing. Cameron has been an amazing coach and the girls have all grown in their skills immensely.
Farewell part with my family at the Joy Luck Restaurant. Group hug from the boy cousins. We are going to really miss these boys. They are all turning into such fine young men and. Hopefully they'll come visit often. We've got a river and a boat-come play!
I would be lying if I didn't say I cried a little when these two too off for Montana today. It is killing me having our family scattered about. Byron moved into a two bedroom tiny home so he could fit Carter in with him. The new semester is starting at Glacier High School and Carter is going to be there for the first day of class. Good luck to my two handsome gingers. We will miss you both. I don't know how much longer I can take this - sell house sell!!
