Hogle Zoo with the Szamosfalvi Cousins and Nana Laura

We have been measuring ourselves against this gorilla wall since I was smaller than Sadie. It has moved locations but is still the same idea. Love to see my little kids lined up just as I did when I was a little tike.
Sadie and this Silver Back had a real encounter here. They both looked each other up and down in the eyes. Sadie waved hi and the silverback didn't seem to mind her checking him out. This eye contact lasted much longer than one would be comfortable with. Pretty impressive. I don't know about Hollie but I was questioning the integrity of that glass barrier. I think her sweet little wave won him over.

The grand's all wrapped up in one little sweet nest package.
Ally checking out the inside of a fake tree.
Jozsie took a liking to Carter. Dang, I hate it when the babies like my kids more than me. Carter was sweet to carry him around and show him a good time at the zoo. Nothing like having family around.
New exhibit at our zoo. We got sea lions and seals and a polar bear. Just can't wait for the new lion portion to open up. The Hogle Zoo is moving up in the world.
Carter giving Sadie a shoulder ride.
Such a fun day at the zoo with the cousins. We love it when these guys come for a visit.
Loved the lighting on this peacock. So beautiful. That magical half hour as the sun begins to set.
Unfortunately our ceiling decided to leak while we had a house full of company. Yikes. I guess I should have got that re-caulking job done after all. It's all fixed up now but I still have a hole in my ceiling. Lucky it wasn't anything worse.  Well, the hole is still there but nothing is leaking out of it now. We thought giving it three or four months to dry out was necessary to prevent any growth. Seriously though, somebody patch up my kitchen ceiling already.
The men diagnosing the problem. We had cell phones up there video recording and eventually cut the hold much larger than in that photo. Not awesome at home repair.
