Down the river at the Slough there is a spot where white swans migrate through. They are here for about two weeks eating and gaining energy to continue on their journey. Loads of white swans, they are noisy and amazingly beautiful. It was fun to go and see. Seems we are always discovering new things here.
Happy birthday cupcake! Oh they do spoil me, don't they.
Ally bought us marching flamingo hats and a new boating/beaching bag. We will use it lots this summer.
The views from our place are always gorgeous. You can see the aerator hole in the pond where it never entirely froze over this winter.
Boys playing in a band concert. They practice band three days a week outside of school time. It does take much of their free time but they seem to enjoy it and they sound so good! It's fun to get the chance to hear them.
We went to the FREE THE SEED event at the FVCC. This is a wire frog sculpture an art student created. Use what you have I guess with the chicken wire, right. We got lots of good advice and free seeds to plan this spring. Laura was in town with us, she watched the kids so we could go to Maui. It was a fun event and I would definitely go again next year.
Pizza at Moose's. Carter has a friend, Hailey that works there so we stopped by to eat and say hi. Laura was impressed by the amount of peanut shells and saw dust they store on their floors.
Byron build me this mount so I can load my weed sprayer onto the four wheeler and be ready to kill some weeds. Let the thistle wars begin. We need to treat all ten acres if we are going to get a handle on the thistle situation this spring.
My little babies I've been growing and experimenting with this winter. They are starting to get big and will be ready for the yard soon. Hopefully the yard will be ready for them.
Byron's birthday. He's looking handsome at 44 years old! Lots of birthdays this month! He is always happy when someone gives him diet cokes.
We had an issue with the neighbors dog falling into the aerator hole this spring and not being able to get out. I had to walk to the edge of the ice twice to scoop Remy out. Byron fixed the situation by making a channel that a stranded dog could swim out of and get of on their own.
Byron was checking out the weed situation in the pond. He really wants a clear pond this summer.
Ally and Payzlee kayaking around. Ally slipped into the pond while we were working on the ice. You wouldn't believe how quickly she flipped around and was back out again. I guess that water is cold. She tells the story like we all stood there laughing at her for ages before she was able to struggle out of the water but in reality she was in and our in a split second.
Sick day. Ally was home not feeling well today.
Penny is enjoying all the partying we are doing around here. March, April and May are the months of birthdays for the whole family. Even Penny was born in April.
Boys enjoying Ty's birthday dinner at McKenzie River Grill. We celebrated Ty's birthday a day early with Byron as we were on the road to Utah for Tyler's actual birthday.
Stopped for a visit in Idaho. This is Jackson, Jonathan's little one. He adored the piggy back rides Ally gave him.
All is well when you get Cafe Rio for your birthday! Tyler's favorite restaurant for the win!! He didn't ever ask for anything for his birthday so dinner was all he got. Maybe he'll choose something soon.
Amber baked him a cake and we got into Logan around 9pm. We spent the night with Jason and Amber and enjoyed their company.
Made it to Salt Lake- Ally and Ty enjoying a soak in Grandma and Grandpa Livsey's hot tub. Still lots of snow in Utah.
Nielson's Custard with the Ruesch cousins. If it looks like our traveling revolves around food it's because it does. We can't miss a meal at one of our favorite restaurants.
A little billiards at the Bountiful Bowling Alley. This is the pool table where Tyler stuck his arm up the ball exchange when he was about four years old. It took some finessing to wriggle his elbow out of there.
Trip down to BYU for a campus tour. Carter is applying to BYU and we are hoping and praying and willing to do some bribing to get him in. Grandma wanted to spend the day with us so she joined the party.
Ping-pong on the dining room table. Her table is so smooth! Makes the ball more predictable.
Found some time to visit with Charles's crew. The kids enjoyed playing in the yard.
Made Byron jealous by eating at Sugarhouse BBQ. The wings there are just so good...
Thai food in the Avenues with my parents. This restaurant was their pick but I will never turn down Thai.
And we're off. Spring Break went far too quickly but it is always fun to visit family! Until we meet again....
