Trombone Concert, lunch date and basement remodel

Tyler is doing awesome with his band at Legacy Prep. They have some fun pieces and are starting to sound like a band instead of beginning band. It's so nice to survive those first few years and get to the pay off stage in the game.
In preparation for selling the house we thought finishing the basement might help move along a sale. The house will list as soon as we have a firm job offer in hand. Byron has been out to Montana for two interviews and has a third scheduled. They are really giving him a run for his money. We are hopeful things will work out with Glacier Bank. It's hard thinking about moving away from all the things we love in North Salt Lake but we have had experiences and feelings that are telling us it's the right thing to do. When Ally, Lydia and I went to scope it out last summer when we first heard whisperings of Kalispell I was driving north on I-15, far north and talking to God in my head. I was saying if this is even remotely close to what we should be doing I'm going to need a sign. California definitely didn't feel right when we went to Pasadena to check it out. I just needed to know we were heading in the right direction. Ten seconds after I had asked for my sign an actual freeway sign came up and the next town on the road was Opportunity. I was floored. I had not only received an answer to my pleading I had received an actual sign. I could file Kalispell into the category of opportunities and weigh it against any other opportunities we had come along. The longer we think about it and the more it percolates the better we feel about it. So we are praying at this point that Byron will land this job with Glacier and we can move North. Something I never though I would be asking the lord for. Not in a hundred lifetimes did I ever dream I would be wanting to move to a colder climate. We have agreed we can retire to Maui after Kalispell so there's always hope for the future.

Like I've mentioned before being out of work isn't always bad news. I love going to lunch with this handsome guy. We tried a new place for us called the Garage. We've driven by it a thousand times going to and from my parents place in the Avenues but today we dine. It is very unfortunate that it was fantastic. We both loved it and will have hopefully at least a few more chances to eat there before we have to leave town. It is also decorated exactly like we want our place in Montana to look. Rustic and old but actually new. Lots of rusty bits but nice and clean. It's a hard mix but they pulled it off smashingly. We will have to continue the lunch dates when Byron is working again, they just won't be following a leisurely morning hike in the mountains. Cry me a river...at least we will have a paycheck.
This little Blue Jay had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting out cat Lucy. She got a hold of him in and brought him into the garage. He was still alive when we put him back outside but it doesn't look good for this pretty jay.

Byron got a reimbursement check today from Glacier for his first interview trip. Here's hoping it is the first of many checks we receive from Glacier. Hopefully only one more interview to go before we know.
The BlueJay didn't make it. Ally gave it a proper burial and a gorgeous grave marker. Lucy stopped by the funeral to pay her respects. She looks so sweet.
