August 2016 - Park City Tournament

We are up in Park City for the weekend for a soccer tournament with Ally's FC Shock team. The girls started out strong with a big first day win. They beat the other team and earned all ten points. The max you can earn for a game. Great start to what will hopefully be a great weekend of soccer.

This caterpillar joined us on the sidelines. Fitting how we have these two boys with us that are most definitely book worms. They spend the entire game reading. At least they come.

After a long hard fought game. Ally earned the SHO badge today for her efforts at her soccer game. Coach picks a star player every game and passes on the SHO badge. Good job Ally!
Nana and Papa Pollan wanted to say thanks for all the hard work we did in getting ready for Jason and Amber's reception in Dallas so they got us a night at a fancy hotel in Deer Valley during Ally's tournament. The Stein Erickson Lodge. It was pretty fancy! Unfortunately they lost their last game and won't be going onto the finals tomorrow but that means we can swim in the hotel pool in the morning and go to the alpaca farm in the afternoon. So - silver lining?

We all watched the opening ceremonies of the olympics but this soccer player was all tuckered out.
Morning swim! Nice pool, great view, good company. Couldn't ask for a better weekend...unless you add in an Alpaca farm. Which we did.
Pool side beauties!!! Shade seeker vs. Sun lover.

Watching a little soccer in our room. Got to take notes for her next game. Ally plans on playing on the olympic soccer team in eight years. Good time to start taking notes.
Hot chocolate and fancy slippers in the hotel room.
Heading to the farm...I'm the most excited!

We had a great afternoon getting our hands on these cuties. Charlotte is the black alpaca who loves to be pet and get attention. Most alpacas don't care for it. We learned all about alpacas and raising alpacas and bought a little fiber and a hand spinner to give spinning yarn a try. I keep joking with Byron that if he lands this job in Montana I will start an alpaca farm. So. Just doing a little research. Ally and Tyler think it's a grand plan. The much wiser Carter can see the downfall in all the alpaca poop and is not very excited about my idea.
