Huckleberry Picking in Idaho

Top secret huckleberry picking location has been shared with us. Thanks to Lisa and her parents for driving us through the dusty farmland and through the wooded hills to their favorite spot. Huckleberry Hill in an undisclosed location in Idaho was a hit. We found loads of berries, more than us novice pickers have ever seen. We tried to make huckleberry pie but it made a berry huckleberry syrup to to our ice cream than pie. No fault of the berries I might add.
Byron was a happy picker. He is the driving force behind our huckleberry madness. He was pleased as punch to bring in such a big haul.

Here Byron is giving us a demo of exactly what it might look like to witness a bear eating huckleberries off a bush. You can't make this stuff up people.

We all picked berries and dumped into a tuperware container to avoid any big spills. If you tripped with a full cup of berries that would be a lot of work lost. Not Tyler though. He wanted his haul kept separate so he would know exactly how much he got. He picked a nice bunch all by himself.

In Rexburg we were led to this guys house who does medal working. We were very impressed with his mad skills. He is over ninety years old and still cranking out new medal sculptures and bird houses from old junk. Pretty impressive recycling I'd say.
