Our New Year's activity was ice skating with family. Headed over to the Bountiful Rec Center and enjoyed a few spins around the rink. Ice skating has been one of my favorite activities for ages and it's so fun now that the kids are bigger and can try a few tricks.
Byron and I like to make a list at the beginning of every year with travel plans and family vacation ideas. This year we had to make a double list. If we stay what our agenda will be and if we move to Montana what the agenda will be. His job is wrapping up in May so we need two lists. Should be a fun year with lots of changes.
These two!!! Jason and Amber stopped by on January 1 to tell us they got engaged on their date last night. They met a year ago at the Capitol at the New Year's Singles dance. Jason left the house telling us he would kiss 100 girls by midnight. Looks like he really kissed one girl 100 times. Close enough. We are so happy to watch them get to know each other and look forward to having Amber in our family. She is a perfect personality fit and so nice. Well done, Jason.
Ty designed a table to put his new Christmas presents on. The sketch below is his work up of how he wants his smelting table to be. Byron and Tyler went out into the garage this weekend and built it. I am totally impressed with the both of them. Also, it was stinking cold out there and they just kept on working. They are both very pleased with the new table.
Girls night at the Zupas. Ally just wants fruit. Always fruit.
I have been heading out with the Jessie dog for hikes in the mornings. This is a photo of me on one of my hikes through the snow. Gorgeous out there in the sunshine.
Carter is just finishing up his Scouting Cooking merit badge. It's the last one he needs before he can send off his Eagle Scout papers. Let's do this Carter!!! Ham fried rice was a win.
We all got together at Grandma and Papa's place for a send off. Matthew is heading out into the mission field. He will be serving at the Family History Mission downtown. He is pretty excited, as are all of us. We can drop off cookies and pizza and stuff for him at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for him. Score! Best of luck Matthew and we are so proud of you.
Byron and I headed over to this office to pack up the last of his things. He is moving out of this room and back to a cubicle on another floor as part of the merger plan. He still has a job until May. Just not his sweet office with the view of the Sugarhouse park and the mountains. He will miss the view!
Tyler playing indoor soccer. He is on a Junior High team this year that is co-ed. They are a pretty good team. It is great for Ty to get in there and kick the ball around a little.
Ally's team playing indoor. These girls are tough. I wouldn't want to play them myself. Though we did have a parent scrimmage one Saturday morning. I seriously thought we the parents would do better than we did. The girls had fun laughing at us trying to play their game. Parents ended up winning but not by much.
