They had girls as young as 8 years old running these machines. It is crazy to think how much responsibility the young kids used to take on.
My dad did not appreciate the food in England very much. We had a hard time finding places still open at night by the time we were done searching church yards. Since the sun stays out until ten or eleven we just kept working and by the time it was getting dark everything had close up.
This trip would not have been possible without the phone navigation. Saved our lives! The driving though was very difficult and exhausting. I hit a pot hole at one point as there is no way to swerve around anything with the tiny lanes and the traffic everywhere. The tire ended up going flat and we had to switch rental cars.
