Albion Basin Campground - aka - ALTA Campout mixed in with Park City Soccer Tournament - busy weekend

July 31-Aug 2 2015 - Alta Campout weekend interchanged with Park City Soccer tournament made for one busy weekend. We had a great time hiking, relaxing and playing at our campsite. We also enjoyed Ally's tournament in Park City.
Jason and Amber joined us for our second night of camping fun.

Reenactment of the titty twister/nipple ripper incident of 2014.
The wildflowers are AMAZING in August.

We ran across this mamma moose and her baby calf on our hike.

Family photo shoot. Thanks Jason.

Salamander vs. Newt We have been in love with hunting salamanders and newts at the Secret Lake now for a few summers. It is a favorite activity on our Alta campout. We came home and did a little research and had our minds blown. We find Salamanders to be superior to the more common Newt and are always so excited to find a salamander. Turns out they are the same animal. A newt grows up into a salamander. What? Love learning new things and hurray for both because they are the same thing.
You hardly see me on the campout without my face behind the lense of my camera. Too much beauty to try to capture.
The creek that ran through our campsite is so very cute and trickly. We love the sound it makes as we drift off to sleep in our sleeping bags.
Queen's Anne's Lace in all it's beauty.
We love seeing the summer side of Alta. This mountain is gorgeous all year round.
Newt/salamander hunting expedition. We found hundreds of them! Well, hundreds of newts, I think the salamanders must dig under the mud or something they are much more elusive.

Timed family photo. The camera balanced nicely on a rock and we got a few cute shots.

I have to admit I love this man to death! How did I get so lucky? Thanks for the cute picture Tyler!
We all do campouts a little differently in our family. Carter likes to read in the hammock. Byron likes to sleep in it. Ally chooses to perform gymnastics moves when she gets a turn.

Ty wrangles with the ropes and then takes up wood chopping with the ax.
I take photos...lots of photos.
Byron is our lookout. He is always behind those binocs checking out the hills and the trees. Lots to see from our campsite.
A quick trip to Park City for a soccer game or two. Ally's team did great and we enjoyed a trip into civilization. Flushing toilet and a sandwich made Jimmy John's a hit. Can I take a shower in the sink? I might have tried. Eating out while camping is NOT cheating it is called SMART. Back to the campout for more fun.
