Braces and The Smelter - August 2015

Byron is back in braces and giving it a go again. The invisalign straightened his teeth alright but did not align his bite which is problematic if you like to eat. Here he goes again. Carter at the ripe age of 15 has started growing in his twelve year molars so our orthodontist Dr. Feller finally let him join the brace face crew. He's actually pretty excited to get going on this teeth straightening business. They get much more empathy out of me since I am fresh out of the braces myself and remember how painful the first week after an appointment can be.

Carter has been building his own aluminum melting forge. He watched a few you tube videos and went to work.

Pouring the molten aluminum into the muffin tin. This is a muffin pan he purchased himself, I do not bake in this pan. Those cans don't know what's coming.

His final product are the inguts which he is holding above. He can now melt those down and turn them into some sort of an aluminum sculpture or knife or whatever he carves out of styrofoam. Ty is in on the action with this can topper design.

Tyler is hard at work for his trombone lesson. He is getting pretty dang good.

Ty built himself an anvil so he can do some metal smithing. We just love the you tube videos around here. He is hammering out a nail in this photo.
